Join Melanie for a two day workshop as she shares her techniques on painting in acrylics with a palette knife. The class will focus on using strong composition and fresh color to create exciting paintings. Melanie will demonstrate how she approaches a painting then students will paint from a photograph or other reference. This workshop will be an excellent introduction to acrylic painting for the beginner and expand the skills of an experienced painter.

Melanie Morris is an award-winning acrylic painter who creates vivid palette knife landscapes, florals and still lifes. Her work has been exhibited in galleries across the southeast and featured in regional and national juried shows.

Classes and workshops are either held in our studio/classroom located next to our store at 2237 Magnolia Avenue or inside a classroom within the store itself. Participants should not park in the Alabama Art lot, but on 23rd Street up the hill from the store or on Magnolia Avenue. Meals are on your own unless otherwise noted. If you bring your lunch, there is coffee, soft drinks, a microwave oven, and refrigerator for your convenience. If you leave for lunch there is ample parking after lunch hour on 23rd Street.
